National Pain Week 2017

National Pain Week

The Oxford Dictionary refers to pain as a “highly unpleasant physical sensation caused by illness or injury”.

The National Pain Week is an initiative of Chronic Pain Australia. Their vision is that no Australian living with persistent pain should suffer alone or without access to resources and information which help them effectively manage their pain.

There are several types of pain which National Pain Week works:

  • Acute Low Back Pain
  • Neuropathic Pain
  • Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS)
  • Phantom Pain
  • Pain after Shingles

Pain shouldn’t be a constant problem or suffering for anyone. That’s why TENS (Transcutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation) is a good method to relieve pain by sending tiny electrical impulses to underlying nerve fibres, through electrodes placed on or near the area of pain or pressure point.

This non invasive, drug-free method, can be used to treat many different types of acute and chronic pain. You can check it out in the website and search for more information: http://www.tensmachinesaustralia.com.au

National Pain Week goes from the 24th to the 30th of July. It promises the core aims of:

  • De-stigmatising the experience of chronic pain;
  • Promoting current thinking that explains chronic pain to the wider Australian community;
  • Creating healing relationships between the person in pain and their pain clinician/s and;
  • Reducing the isolation and suffering of people in pain.

Don’t suffer alone. Now you know you can overcome your pain.
